Righty-ho
this is a hot topic of conversation on internet news groups everywhere, so here, as we are a reading group, i think we should get into this debate. Main Points: Northern Lights, is the first book of a trilogy, called His Dark Materials, written by Phillip Pullman. It's being turned into a Big Movie Much of the book has been altered, to make it more "Child friendly" and suitable for younger audiences, as the series is actually a childrens book. There are very stron, very obvious anti-religious undercurrents running throughout the series, and towards the end of the the third book, a character who is supposed to be God, dies. The auther is known to be a pro-aethiest any comments are vallied, but I WILL PERSONALLY DELETE inappropriate or stupid comments comments I want this to be a structured, reasoned and polite debate, not to descend into a spamming or slagging match.

Ok, so i've now built us a glass orb, which is visible at the top of the page. it didn't turn out uite how i wanted it, the new version of the software didn't make it as shiny as the older one did, but i suppose it's good enough for government work.
I do have two others in the pipe, one for the Paulsgrove Group (which is Blue) and one for the Elm Grove group (which by Sawendros demand should be green) let me know what we think of these, so i can change them, or just scrap the project

i have just been looking through my old emails (with g,mail, you never need to delete!), and have found the email sent to me by DAVE on the day that this wiki was born.
"This is an EXTREMELY EXPERIMENTAL wiki, as discussed in our last reading group, that I am inviting you all to join and contribute to. You will need to sign up if you choose to accept. Please do not invite any other people for the time being. I need to get some idea of how this will work and this is the best way of doing it. I have been shameless in my plagiarism from Kate's blog created in August, but needed some initial content. NO ONE ELSE in the library service knows about this yet!
