60. RE: they dont want
Jan 7 2008, 4:49 PM EST
if you live without believing in anything then you are saying that you really dont believe in anything. dont you believe that this world can be a better place? dont you believe in your friends and family? dont you believe in yourself? i must say that it is rather dumb to say that you dont believe in anything. and ill tell you why. you say that you dont believe that there is a god but you say that you dont believe in anything. so you do believe in somthing, am i right?and quite frankly i have little, if any, faith in mankind as well. everybody wants to blame some one else for the problems. WELL THEY NEED TO STOP BLAMING SOMEONE ELSE AND SOLVE THE DAMN PROBLEMS!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you find this valuable? |

i have beleif in a supreme being/creater/architecht etc etc.I do beleive that the world can be a better place, but for itto be so, people must accept things for the greater good, and strengthen their stomachs. "oh don't spank children who are nuaghty, it makes them cry" so? if they're being nuaghty, spank 'em to tell them not to. that's why this generation is so F***ked up: because there is no discipline, because namby-pamby do-goodders tell us that making our children cry and turn a slightly deeper shade of red than usual is a bad thing. plus political correctness needs reigning in, a VERY long way Do you find this valuable? |

that is what im saying. what is wrong in believing in someone or something that we dont believe in? if we say it is wrong that people do believe in a god than we are no better than those who say that we are weak. the problem is that some people accept that there may not be a god but others say that those people are weak. but what i hate the most is that most people that say 'they believe in god' turn around and go against everything that god tells them not to.

i do believe in the goodness of man. what i say is that if we need to believe in a god to be good, then there is somthing wrong somewere. we need to stop passing the buck to god, and tell ourelves that the buck stops here!this world can be a better place, but it is going to be hard, for one thing, the global population is growing far to fast, another thing that we can blaim on religion( not god, there is a difrence), just think what good would be done if the pope said that condoms where okay. there would be less aids, less people, etc people only believe in the bits of god that suits them at the time. i moved house today, into some better halls of residence. there was not much in the room when i arived, but there was a Bible. i thought about slinging out of the window, and i do plan to do somthing to it. it says that i should leave it there for whoever comes after me, but i do not know if i can do that. what if they read it, and believe it? could i live with that on my concence? i think not a few weeks ago, i was helping out on a scout hike, and i got talking with one of the other leaders. he asked me if i had rethought my position on religion since he had last seen me in the summer, and i told him no, if anything, i had become more conviniced that religion is a bad thing. i ended up explaining to the scouts why, in my opinion, the two most evil things in the world where a love of money and religion. the solution: Communism. it works on paper, but not in real life, because humanity is naturaly greedy. we want out for number one. if you could break that, then we'd be sorted

no, but that's just how it is anyway. people don't want to better themselves, they want what they can get, and we're a civilisation driven entirly by the aquisition of wealth. its a prestige thing "My car's newer/shinier/more expensive/faster that yours" and you won't be able to take that out of people. you'd have to raise children entirly out of that environment in order to acheive that. but who's going to give up their child?

but if no one is going to make that sacrifice, then what is to happen to our children. what is more important, our happieness now, or the wellfare of our children and the genarations to come?

i somewhat agree. take the children some place not affected and teach them to be better. we are no were near the world that everyone wants. but because of this how much longer will this world last?Do you find this valuable? |

whilst i agree that that does sound like a perfect plan, i must say that i think that there is one thing wrong with it. although we think, nay, know that we have the ieas needed for a perfect soceity, other people are going to say the same thing. how is to say that we should be the ones, that it should be our phisosophy, and not theirs, that governs this new world?if i where in charge, i wuold say that it should be without religion, but i know that there are others who would say that without religion, it would not be perfect. the idea is a god one, but the problems arise when you try and work out what perfection is Do you find this valuable? |

no two people will have the same idea on what constitutes perfection. in my ideal world, there is no nee for currency, and everyone holds together for the greater good

ok, so if we accept the fact that there is no suh thing as the difinitive perfection, does that mean that it is not possible to work somthing out that leaves the majority of people happy and contented, without damaging the planet?and what of utaliterianism, "the greatest good for the greatest people"? i mean, we could have a world in which pleanty of people where happy, but ut would not last long ,and we would, (sorry, are0 spoil it four our children. would they be happy in the word that we are leaving them? i would assume thatwe are not happy with teh world that our pearants have left us, so perhaps the best thing to di is to not have any children at all, thus saving them from the horrors of having to live on this ruined earth. i beleive that strange things happen, and i must reluctantly accept that ghosts at least are real. gran can see them, dad has seen one, sister has seen one, mum had a conversation with her dead brother after he got killed, grandad spoke to his CO before he was told the guy was dead.I have yet to see, but i can feel when something is there. there's a wrongness about the area. Daemons is streatching it a bit though I would not be happy handing my children into this mess of a world. Do you find this valuable? |

what would you say if i told you that i could prove that we live at the centre of the universe, and that the sun goes round the earth, and that the bible proves there is no god?
